It's Not Africa
It's not Africa, but rather than heading to the grasslands of the Serengetti in Tanzania, we are headed to the rain forests of Brazil and South America. The Amazon rainforest, as well as the Amazon and Rio Negro rivers to be more precise. Instead of searching out the Big Five of East Africa, we will be looking for the secretive Jaguar, Pink River Dolphin, Caiman Aligator, Green Anaconda (don't look up) and lets not forget the colourful Toucan. The real journey started 10 months ago when I first jumped into the planning abyss. Tonight we start with a flight into Rio de Janeiro (Viva Carnival) with all it's iconic landmarks after having transfered from Sao Paulo and our 10 1/2 hour flight. Then it's onto Manaus and a five day Amazon river cruise on a small 16 passenger river boat. This will be followed by five days in the Amazon rainforest and then a complete sail of the Amazon, west to east, from Manaus to the Atlantic. We'll head north plowing the waters of the Caribbean, with stops at many of the islands before finishing off in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Should be fun. Viagens seguras
